This 1862 S $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle Coin is made from .900 gold and the condition is Ex-Jewelry. The coin is made from 90%fine gold with a weight of 0.4838 troy oz.

The obverse features a leftward facing Liberty head with her hair tied in a bun and secured with beaded strings. She is wearing a coronet on her head with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The head is encircled by 13 stars to represent the 13 original colonies of the US. At the bottom is the year of mintage.

The reverse of the coin features a heraldic eagle with a shield on its breast and holding olive branches and arrows in its talons. The design inspired by the Great Seal of the United States. The words “IN GOD WE TRUST” are contained in a banner above the eagle. Inscriptions – “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “TEN D.”
