To honor the famous American people, event, places, and institutions, US Mint started the Modern Commemorative Coin Programs by minting .900 pure $5 and $10 gold commemorative coins. The first coin was released to commemorate the 250th birth anniversary of George Washington in 1982. The coins are legal tender authorized by the US Government. It is issued by US Mint almost every year since 1982 and comes with a new design on the obverse and reverse each year. These US gold coins have low mintage and are available only for a limited time and hence there is a lot more demand than supply.
Coin Features:
- Made from .900 fine gold with a weight of 0.4838 troy oz.
- Graded MS or PF 69 by NGC or PCGS.
- MS/PF 69 - Virtually as struck with minuscule imperfections, near full strike necessary.
- Dates will be chosen randomly and are determined by our available inventory on hand.
- Obverse: Changing designs for each year with the inscription; "LIBERTY," the mint mark "W," “In God We Trust,” and the year of mintage.
- Reverse: Changing designs for each year with the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "TEN DOLLARS," "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
