The company is well-known for producing highly intricate silver bars and rounds as well as being praised for their exclusive hand-painted bullion series. The mint also manufactures custom medallions for distinct organizations, including the United States Military, as well as highly pure reproductions of famous US coins, making the mint extremely popular among investors and collectors. The company is renowned for having an exceptional workforce, as about one-third of its employees worked for more than 15 years within it. Besides, the company has always maintained the integrity and hardworking spirit of its founders, is also a member of several numismatic associations.

The History of SilverTowne Mint

The company was founded by Leon and Ruhama Hendrickson in 1949 as a small family-run business in precious metals and numismatics. In 1973, the company opened its mint and started striking its own products on Nickel Presses and Bliss Press. Later, in May 1985, due to space limitations, the mint had moved its bullion manufacturing to larger ISO 9001 facilities in Winchester, Indiana, in order to fulfill the company’s future goals. In the late 1980s, the mint issued its first hand-painted and hand-enameled bullion pieces, being the first business offering such unique bullion options. Today, the company mints high-quality .999 silver bullion products, being regarded as one of the largest private mints in the United States. The company operates as a subsidiary of A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc. and has an annual capacity of producing up to 20.0 million ounces of silver.
