In 2020, the US Mint marked the 35th anniversary of this esteemed series by introducing new reverse designs for the Gold and Silver Eagles, while maintaining their classic obverse designs.

The obverse for the 2024 Silver American Eagle features the classic Adolph A Weinman “Walking Liberty” design, an updated rendering of the original illustration used for the silver half-dollar from 1916-1947. Lady Liberty marches forward to the setting sun with oak and laurel branches in her left arm. She reaches out her right arm towards the horizon with the American flag over her shoulders.

The reverse, designed by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso, presents a bald eagle swooping down for a landing while holding an oak branch in its talons.
