The company was formed in 2015 when the Japanese Corporation – Asahi Holdings – purchased the gold and silver facilities of Johnson Matthey located in the United States and Canada. Asahi Holdings was established in 1952 - is particularly specialized in refining rare precious metals, like palladium and platinum, as well as in the treatment and detoxification of industrial and hazardous wastes. Johnson Matthey was a prestigious mint, established back in 1817 and has a 200-year history of refining and minting. It was well-known by investors and collectors due to its high-quality bullion products. The Asahi Silver Bars: Sizes and Designs

Asahi Refining produces both minted and cast silver bars. Cast Asahi Silver Bars are available in four sizes, 1 kg, 100 oz., 10 oz. and 1 oz. struck from .999 fine silver, by using traditional refining processes. The obverse side of the bars is typically stamped with the company’s name, weight, and purity of the bar, as well as a unique serial number.
