US COMMEMORATIVE PROGRAMS

The US Mint continues to produce exceptional commemorative coins and medallions to honor people, places, and events in the US. These coins are a superb way to add value to your investment portfolio and celebrate real American historical significance. The US Mint uses a surcharge on the cost of the bullion to help maintain historical sites, national monuments, new museums, and more.

2018 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PROOF GOLD COIN

This coin honors the 1 in 8 women in the United States diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetimes, and the proceeds go towards breast cancer research. Increased awareness and early detection have helped many families affected by the disease. Additionally, this beautiful coin has a pink hue which is a first for the US Mint. The obverse features two women of different ages. One pumps a fist in the air with her other hand on her chest. The second woman overlaps her hands on her chest with a look of gratitude and relief. A butterfly floats through the background along with the breast cancer awareness ribbon. The reverse features the Tiger Swallowtail butterfly, a symbol of hope.

2014 NATIONAL BASEBALL HALL OF FAME PROOF COIN

Baseball fans unite for this stunning curved proof coin—the first curved coin the US mint produced. Extensive research and development went into making this curved coin, and it shows. The beautiful coin's surcharges go towards the National Baseball Hall of Fame, which is a not-for-profit educational institution. The coin's obverse is concave and features a baseball glove, symbolizing American's national pastime. On the convex reverse, you'll find a portion of the Major League’s baseball.

2019 APOLLO II

This famous coin shows real honor to the event where Americans became the first humans to land on the moon. In 1969, the world watched in wonder and awe as Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon. The obverse features phases of the moon with the inscriptions "MERCURY," "GEMINI," and "APOLLO." You'll also find the photo of the famous footprint on the lunar surface. The reverse features another famous photo—the shot of Aldrin's visor reflecting an image of Armstrong, the American flag, and the lunar landing.

1997 JACKIE ROBINSON

These scarce coins only have a little over 5000 pieces. Jackie Roosevelt Robinson was the first African American baseball player to play in the Major Leagues. He joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. That same year his hard work earned him the title of Rookie of the Year and was entered into the prestigious Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. The obverse features an older Jackie Robinson and the reverse showcases a baseball with the birth year to death of his life. The additional inscription includes "Legacy of Death."
