This Proof Silver eagle makes a wonderful addition to any precious metals collection. The United States Mint first issued the Silver American Eagle coin program in 1986. Originally the reverse was designed by John Mercanti. In 2021 a new reverse image depicting an eagle mid-flight, designed by Emily Damstra, was introduced in order to honor the series’ 35th Anniversary.

The obverse features the walking liberty image as designed by Adolph A. Weinman. With an American flag draped around her shoulders, Lady Liberty walks forwards towards a rising sun holding oak and laurel branches in her left arm.

The reverse showcases an American Eagle mid-flight holding a branch in its talons. It appears that the majestic bird is swooping down to fortify its nest.
