A Lovely Rendition of Chinese Tradition

Each year of the 12-year Chinese Lunar Cycle is represented by a different animal. Individuals born during a specific Lunar year are believed to embody the traits of their zodiac animal. The animals of the Chinese Zodiac, in order, are Rat/Mouse, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The year 2020 kicks off the next Lunar Year Cycle with the Year of the Rat / Mouse, the first animal in the zodiac order. Those born during the Year of the Rat (including 1972, 1984, 1996, and 2008) tend to be diligent, industrious, and positive.

Dragon Privy Coin

In Chinese culture, the Dragon represents power, strength, and good fortune. Because of this, births usually increase during the Year of the Dragon. Dragon Boat racing occurs during many special festivals and dancers perform with dragon puppets at certain auspicious occasions. Furthermore, many believe gifting a loved one with a present depicting a dragon will bring the recipient luck in the future.
