New Decade, Same Dazzling Designs
The obverse of the 2020 Silver Eagles depicts the iconic full-length figure of Lady Liberty, striding forward. Designed by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, Lady Liberty walks while gently enveloped in the US Flag, billowing in the wind. Additionally, she extends her right hand towards the horizon while cradling branches of laurel and oak in her left. The reverse of the silver coin features the John Mercanti design of the US Seal. A Heraldic Bald Eagle bears a striped shield upon its chest. It also grasps arrows and an olive branch in its talons. An upside-down triangle comprised of 13 stars is etched above the eagle’s head.
