$5 Gold Half Eagle Liberty Head - Brilliant Uncirculated BU (Random Year)

There was a time when American used to trade a real gold, and these were the pre-1933 times, an era which saw several gold coins in circulation. One among them was the $5 Gold Half Eagle Liberty Head coins.These gold coins were minted from 1839- 1908. Since these pre-1933 coins are not minted anymore, there is a huge demand on the market for them. Half Eagles were the first gold coins to be struck by the US Mint. There were the Turban Head, Draped Bust, Classic Head, Liberty Head or Coronet Head, and Indian Head designs. Among the 134 years, there was one design that graced the coin for as long as 70 years and that coin is the Liberty Head or Coronet Head.

  • Contains .2419 Troy ounce of .900 pure gold.
  • Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Condition.
  • Obverse - A design by Christian Gobrecht features a leftward facing profile portrait of Lady Liberty with her hair tied into a bun and secured with beaded strings and wearing a coronet on her head with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. Encircled by13 stars to represent 13 original colonies of US. 
  • Reverse - Features a heraldic eagle with a shield on its breast and holding olive branches and arrows in its talons, design inspired from the Great Seal of United States. Inscriptions – “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “FIVE D.” Two types in reverse design – without motto (1839-1866) and with motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” on a banner above the eagle (1866-1908).
  • U.S. Mint issue from the following mints: Philadelphia, Carson City, Charlotte, Dahlonega, Denver, New Orleans, or San Francisco.
  • Individual coins will be shipped in protective plastic flips.  
  • Minted from 1839-1908, dates and mint mark will be chosen randomly based on availability.

What if my products are damaged in transit or do not arrive at all?
Bullion Exchanges will honor requests for refund or exchange, however you must contact the Exchanges Customer Service Department within 7 days of receiving the product. If you wish to exchange a product you may be required to submit photography or other documentation to process the exchange.
