Prince Dmitri won the Kulikovo battle and, although it didn’t end the Mongol domination over Russia, it is well known as a turning point towards Muscovite independence and the formation of the modern Russian state. It is believed that this battle was won thanks to the joint actions of cavalry and infantry, which used various weapons, such as bows and arrows, sabers, battle-axes, swords, spears, maces, and daggers.
