The Tudor Beasts Series commemorates the Royal Beasts that line the Moat Bridge of the Hampton Court Palace, set in place during Henry VIII’s reign. The Lion of England is one of the most iconic beasts featured in heraldic art. The edge of each coin features the inscription: “HAMPTON COURT PALACE ROYAL • TUDOR BEASTS”.

The obverse of both coins features the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by inscriptions.

The reverse of both coins was designed by David Lawrence and showcases the fierce, crowned Lion of England holding a shield and boasting an impressive mane.
