Formed in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1973, the band known as AC/DC is still performing today. Although the group members have changed throughout the years, their hard rock/heavy metal sound has largely stayed consistent over time. This iconic group has sold more than 200 million records worldwide and currently sits as the 16th highest-selling band of all time. Their success extends to the United States as well, selling over 75 million albums - making them the ninth-highest-selling artist in the United States. Their most well-known songs include “Back In Black”, “You Shook Me All Night Long”, “Highway To Hell”, and “Thunderstruck”.
The obverse of each coin displays the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
The reverse of each coin showcases the original artwork of an AC/DC album, selectively printed in black to look like a mini vinyl record. The five albums featured are “Let There Be Rock”, “Powerage”, “Flick the Switch”, “Blow Up Your Video”, and “Black Ice”.
