Please note this coin was produced by the Philadelphia Mint but does not carry the "P" mint mark. This coin is certified by PCGS as being in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) Condition, which is defined by PCGS as "A generic term applied to any coin that has not been in circulation. It often is applied to coins with little "brilliance" left, which properly should be described as simply Uncirculated." This coin may come with significant scratches, spotting, or other impairments, but still holds the BU condition. Bullion Exchanges is not liable for concerns regarding their initial grade of the coin and any concerns regarding the accuracy of the grade may be taken up directly with PCGS.
Bullion Exchanges now offers the 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle PCGS BU FS (Philadelphia) Emergency Issue Coin. These American Eagle coins contain .999 fine silver and weigh 1 troy ounce, with a face value of $1 USD. Because the West Point and San Francisco facilities struggled to keep up with Silver Eagle production during the pandemic, the Philadelphia Mint helped pick up the slack by producing these 2021 Emergency Production Silver Eagles. While Brilliant Uncirculated Silver Eagles do not carry a “P” mintmark, PCGS has certified this coin was minted at Philadelphia. Additionally, this Silver Eagle has received a “First Strike” designation, meaning it was submitted for grading within the first 30 days of the coin’s release! It is important to note that this 2021 Silver American Eagle will feature the original John Mercanti reverse design for the final time, as a new reverse will replace this one in mid-2021. Be sure to purchase your 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle PCGS BU FS today!
The obverse of this coin continues to show the original “Walking Liberty” design by Adolph A. Weinman. Lady Liberty strides to the left with her right arm extended towards the rising sun. The American flag gently draped over her shoulders, ripples behind her. She carries olive and oak branches in her left arm.
The reverse showcases the John Mercanti US National Coat of Arms for the final time. A magnificent bald eagle, wings outstretched, holds arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. A banner containing the phrase “E PLURIBUS UNUM” hangs from its beak, and the shield on the eagle’s chest displays the US flag. Thirteen stars above the eagle’s head represent the original thirteen colonies.
