2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS 69 ER Mint Error (Rev Retained Struck Thru) Emergency Production

Please note this coin was produced by the Philadelphia Mint but does not carry the "P" mintmark. Also, this is the last American Silver Eagle carrying the original reverse design.

Now presenting the 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS 69 ER Emergency Issue Mint Error (Rev Retained Struck Thru) Emergency Production, available for purchase at Bullion Exchanges! Containing 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver, these American Eagle coins carry a $1 face value. Even though they lack a “P” mintmark, each of these Philadelphia-Minted Silver Eagles arrive in a holder featuring a Philadelphia Emergency Issue label. NGC certified these Eagles as a near-perfect MS 69, and also assigned them an “Early Releases'' designation. This indicates NGC received these 2021 Silver Eagles within the first 30 days of the coin’s official release! Further enhancing their collector desirability, these specific Silver Eagles feature a unique mint error: “Reverse Retained Struck Thru”. This error means that not only was there a foreign object present on the die or the reverse side of the planchet (blank) when the coin was struck, but that foreign object is still pressed into the coin! Looking for a special addition to your coin collection? Add this 2021 (P) Emergency Issue Silver Eagle Mint Error Coin to your portfolio today!

Dealing with a dwindling silver supply and limited resources at its facilities in 2020, the US Mint was forced to delay the release of its silver coins. Because of the constant demand for silver bullion, the Philadelphia branch stepped in and produced these 2021 Silver Eagles. Because of this  intervention, these coins are designated as “Emergency Issues”. These 2021 (P) Silver Eagles would make a wonderful addition to any growing portfolio, as they are among the last graded editions to carry the original reverse design!

The original 1916 Adolph  A. Weinman “Walking Liberty” design remains on the coin’s obverse. Lady Liberty walks to the left, her right arm extended towards the rising sun with the American flag billowing in the background behind her. She also holds a bounty of olive and oak branches in her left arm.

The coin’s reverse features John Mercanti’s original Eagle design: the United States national coat of arms. This image depicts a bald eagle with open wings clutching a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. The eagle grasps a banner in its beak that reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, and bears a shield with the US flag. The 13 stars above the eagle’s head symbolize the original colonies. There is at least one foreign object stuck on the coin’s design on the reverse side.
