2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS 69 ER Mint Error (Obv/Rev Struck Thru) Emergency Production
Please note this coin was produced by the Philadelphia Mint but does not carry the "P" mintmark. Also, this is the last American Silver Eagle carrying the original reverse design.
Bullion Exchanges is excited to offer the 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS 69 ER Emergency Issue Mint Error (Obv/Rev Struck Thru). These American Eagle coins contain 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver and carry a $1 face value. Each of these Philadelphia-Minted Silver Eagles arrive in a holder featuring a Philadelphia Emergency Issue label, but they do not feature a “P” mintmark. These Silver Eagles were graded by NGC as a near-perfect MS 69, and also received an “Early Releases'' designation. This indicates they were received for grading within the first 30 days of the coin’s official release! Further increasing their collector value, these specific Silver Eagles feature a mint error: “Obverse/Reverse Struck Thru”. This error means a foreign object was present on the die or on both the obverse and reverse sides of the planchet (blank) when the coin was struck. Want a unique acquisition for your collection? Add this 2021 (P) Emergency Issue Silver Eagle Mint Error Coin to your portfolio today!
Grappling with a shortened silver supply and limited resources at its facilities in 2020, the US Mint was forced to delay the release of silver coins. Because of the constant demand for silver bullion, the Philadelphia branch stepped in and produced these 2021 Silver Eagle coins. Therefore, these coins are designated as “Emergency Issues”. These 2021 (P) Silver Eagles would make a wonderful addition to any growing portfolio, as they are among the final graded editions to carry the original reverse design!
The original 1916 Adolph A. Weinman “Walking Liberty” design remains on the coin’s obverse. Lady Liberty marches to the coin’s left, her right arm extended towards the rising sun with the American flag billowing in the background behind her. She also bears a bounty of olive and oak branches in her left arm. A mint error is also evident on the obverse.
The coin’s reverse features John Mercanti’s original Eagle design: the United States national coat of arms. This image displays a bald eagle with outstretched wings clutching a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. The eagle clutches a banner in its beak that reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, and bears a shield with the US flag. The 13 stars above the eagle’s head symbolize the original colonies. A mint error is apparent on the reverse as well.
