Introducing the 2021 30 gram Chinese Gold Panda 500 Yuan coin, one of the newest releases in the beloved Gold Panda series from the Chinese Mint. Made from .999 fine gold with a weight of 30 grams, this coin will enhance the worth of any gold collection! This Chinese coin has a face value of 500 yuan and is considered legal tender in China. However, its value greatly exceeds that amount because of its gold content and purity.

The Chinese Gold Panda series was created in 1982 and released by the People’s Bank of China. The series originally included the coin sizes of 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz, but then the 5 oz, 12 oz, and 1/20 oz sizes were added later. In 2016, the People’s Bank of China decided to switch their measurements over to the metric system to compete on the international market. Subsequently, they released the 1, 3, 8, 15, and 30 gram coins. Proof editions of the Chinese Panda Coins are also minted in 50 gram, 100 grams, 150 grams, and 1 kilo. While coin collectors pursue the panda series for its various sizing options, they also greatly appreciate the annually-updated reverse design as well!

The obverse features the Temple of Heaven, a network of religious buildings situated in Beijing, China. The year of mintage is inscribed around the rim, along with the Chinese characters for “People’s Republic of China.”

The reverse for the Gold Panda presents a touching scene of a mother panda carefully watching her offspring as it climbs a tree. Both pandas seem to have slight smiles on their faces. The coin’s denomination is inscribed above the mother’s head while the weight and purity are inscribed along the rim.
