This splendid 2020-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagle is the newest release in the legendary Proof Silver American Eagle Series from the renowned United States Mint.

Both the bullion and proof editions of the American Silver Eagle Program were first released by the US Mint in November 1986, and each carries the same iconic design representing the Walking Liberty on the obverse and the majestic heraldic eagle on the reverse. However, the proof editions are the only ones with a mintmark and are struck multiple times using special dies and blanks to obtain an exceptionally fine brilliant finish highly praised by silver collectors and investors all over the world.

The coins produced from 1986 to 1992 were struck at the San Francisco facility and showcase the “S” mintmark. These were followed by the 1993-2000 coins, which display the “P” mintmark that indicates they were minted at the Philadelphia facility. Starting from 2001, all Proof Silver Eagles are now produced at the West Point facility and bear the “W” mintmark.
