2020-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagle NGC MS 70 FD Jones Sign
The 2020-W 1 oz Burnished Silver Eagle is a collectible coin produced by the United States Mint. This particular coin has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) as a Mint State 70 (MS 70), the highest possible grade for a coin that has never been in circulation.
The "W" in the coin's name indicates that it was minted at the West Point Mint and has a burnished finish, which gives the coin a matte appearance.
The obverse features the iconic Walking Liberty on the obverse side, with the words "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage. The reverse design depicts a heraldic eagle with a shield, holding an olive branch and arrows, and was created by artist John Mercanti.
The coin also features a First Day of Issue (FDOI) label, which indicates that it was submitted to the grading company for authentication and grading within 24 hours of its release by the US Mint.
The label on this particular coin has been signed by Elizabeth Jones, the 11th Chief Sculptor and Engraver of the US Mint who served from 1981 to 1991. Her signature adds additional collectible value to the coin.
