This coin was produced by the Philadelphia Mint but does not carry the "P" mint mark.

The US Mint had to temporarily halt productions at the West Point and San Francisco Mint during the coronavirus pandemic. To keep production going, 240,000 of the 2020 American Silver Eagle coins were manufactured through the Philadelphia Mint. These emergency production American Eagle silver bullion coins do not carry a P-mintmark, but these coins have a special PCGS Emergency Production label, which adds to its collectibility. The silver coins carry a face value of $1 USD and are made with .999 fine silver with a weight of 1 oz. Finally, these American Eagle silver bullion coins were graded a perfect MS 70 with a First Strike designation. The 2020 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle Emergency Production PCGS MS 70 FS (Philadelphia) is an unparalleled coin to invest in for its historical value alone, so do not wait to order yours from Bullion Exchanges!

Premiering in 1986, the American Eagle Series was a highly sought-after silver coin and still is today. This is because the American Eagle series is the first US bullion coin series since FDR outlawed collecting precious metals during the Great Depression. The American Eagle silver bullion coins continue to be one of the most popular annual purchases for collectors internationally. Produced by the US Mint and backed by the US government, American silver dollars also make a great first buy for anyone beginning to collect bullion coins.

The obverse of this coin has the original “Walking Liberty” 1916 Adolph  A. Weinman illustration. Weinman’s design was first seen on the American silver half dollars in the early 1900s. In the illustration, Lady Liberty marches to the left side of the American Eagle silver bullion coin. Her right arm reaches towards the rising sun and the American flag waves behind her. She also carries olive and oak branches in her left arm as she walks forth.

The reverse of the American silver dollars bears the updated US National Coat of Arms by John Mercanti. The bald eagle with its wings spread apart is the centerpiece of this Coat of Arms. This heraldic eagle holds arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other to symbolize the “peace through strength” mantra of the US. The eagle also clutches a banner in its beak which reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. A shield lays on the eagle’s chest, which proudly emblazons the US flag. Finally, thirteen stars lie above the eagle’s head as a nod to the original thirteen colonies.
