2020 5 oz Silver Niue Goddess of Mercy - Eight Protectors Series Antiqued High Relief $10 Coin (w/Box & COA)

This bi-metallic coin is a truly astounding silver and copper collectible coin that honors classic Chinese mythology. The 2020 5 oz Silver Niue Goddess of Mercy - Eight Protectors Series Antiqued High Relief $10 Coin (w/Box & COA) is the first deity of the Eight Protectors by PMC to show up on a silver and copper coin. The Goddess of Mercy was chosen as the first coin for the series because 2020 is the Year of the Rat. Additionally, this coin was made with 5 oz of .999 pure silver and 28.5 oz of fine copper. Finally, this coin is incredibly rare with a low mintage of 199. Begin your Eight Protectors series collection now with Bullion Exchanges!

The Eight Protectors series consists of eight Buddhist deities that are assigned to protect the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals. Four of them guard the main cardinal directions while the other four watch over the semi directions. The Goddess of Mercy with One Thousand Hands is the first goddess in the cycle who watches over the Rat zodiac animal. She is prayed to for relief of illness and eye issues including blindness. In her many hands, she holds tools of salvation that symbolize her diverse power. This iconic coin is a perfect gift for anyone who enjoys mythology and Buddhist culture.

This silver and copper coin was minted with a special process called Bi-Metal Plus. This process required completely covering a 28.5 oz copper center with 5 oz layers of .999 fine silver. These ultra-high relief coins were then given an antique finish.

The obverse of this bi-metallic coin features the legal tender with the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. She is in the center of a yin and yang circle surrounded by the zodiac wheel of the 12-Animal cycle. The Rat is at the top of the wheel to identify the 2020 zodiac year as the Year of the Rat. Specific line patterns further surround the outermost portion of the coin on each side of the octagon.

The reverse of the silver and copper collectible coin shows the Goddess of Mercy and eighteen of her arms, 14 of which carry tools of salvation. She sits on a platform in the divine lotus position with two hands in the prayer position, and two hands making a circle in her lap. Furthermore, she has three faces on several of her heads that stack on top of each other and ascend into the sky. Around the border of the coin is traditional kanji.
