The 2020 30 gram Chinese Silver Panda coin is now available in PCGS MS 70 First Strike condition from Bullion Exchanges. Featuring a new reverse design every year, this annual series pays homage to the national animal of China. It carries a denomination of 10 Yuans and is fully backed by the Chinese government. It contains 30 grams of .999 fine silver. Additionally, these coins have been graded as MS 70 by PCGS, their highest rating. As First Strike coins, they are guaranteed to have been rated within the first 30 days of issue.

The Chinese government authorized the Chinese Panda coin program in 1982 when it began minting Gold Panda coins. The program expanded to silver a year later, when the first Silver Pandas were released in the form of proof coins. Finally, 1889 saw bullion silver Chinese Pandas enter the market. Since then, colorized and privy mark versions have also joined the Silver Panda family.

While the Chinese Panda series originally weighed its coins using troy ounces, it switched over to grams in 2016, meaning that there are now both the older troy ounce and the newer gram versions of these coins in circulation.

Silver Panda coins feature a new reverse every year. The 2020 coin displays a panda cub laying on its back as it munches on bamboo leaves. Its left paw holds more leaves, and its right paw is reaching for tree branches just above. Inscriptions for the weight, purity, and denomination surround the rim.

The obverse for the Silver Panda features the Temple of Heaven, a complex of religious buildings located in Beijing, China. Ming and Qing dynasty Emperors would visit the Temple’s Hall of Prayer annually to pray for a good harvest. The rim is inscribed with the year of mintage and the Chinese Characters for “People’s Republic of China.”
