2019-W 1 oz Burnished Silver American Eagle PCGS SP 70 First Strike

Silver American Eagles are the official investment-grade bullion coins of the United States. These coins are produced by the U.S. Mint and are backed by the government of the United States. Silver Eagles were first minted in 1986 after the approval of the Liberty Coin Act on July 9, 1985. Burnished American Silver Eagles are only minted at the West Point branch of the U.S. Mint. The coin has a nearly perfect grade of SP 70 by PCGS. The First Strike label certifies that this was one of the few coins released within the first 30 days of the coin's issue. This is a burnished silver coin - which means that it has a matte finish as a result of blanks being polished before being struck.

The obverse features the Walking Liberty which an iconic design that first appeared on Silver Half Dollars in 1916. The design was created by the renowned student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Adolph A. Weinman. Weinman’s works were featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollars. Liberty walks forward with her right arm held out and branches in her left arm. The U.S. flag unfurls behind her with the sun rising in the background. The reverse displays the Heraldic eagle designed by the American engraver John Mercanti.

• Reverse: Displays a heraldic eagle behind a shield clutching an olive branch in its right talons and arrows in its left talons with 13 small stars above the eagle, representing the original colonies, designed by John Mercanti
