Lady Liberty is enveloped by A billowing US Flag softly envelops Lady Liberty as she walks. The reverse of the coin, inspired by the Great Seal of the United States, features the well-loved design by John Mercanti. A fierce eagle with wings outstretched bears a large striped shield in front of its body. The Latin phrase “E Pluribus Unum” is inscribed on a ribbon which is gripped in the beak of the fierce eagle. Sharp arrows and olive branches are both tightly clutched in the eagle’s talons.
