Silver American Eagles are the official investment-grade bullion coins of the United States. These coins are produced by the U.S. Mint and are backed by the government of the United States. They are globally renowned for their silver content, weight, and purity along with the iconic and timeless design. These coins are only released in a one-ounce size and are made of .999 fine silver. This is burnished silver coin - which means that it has a matte finish as a result of blanks being polished before being struck.
Silver Eagles were first minted in 1986 after the approval of the Liberty Coin Act on July 9, 1985. The coin is a legal tender issue of the United States government. The coin has a face value of $1. Burnished American Silver Eagles are only minted at the West Point branch of the U.S. Mint. The coin has a perfect grade of SP 70 by PCGS. The First Strike label certifies that this was one of the first coins to be struck in 2018's mint run.
The obverse features the Walking Liberty which an iconic design that first appeared on Silver Half Dollars in 1916. The design was created by the renowned student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Adolph A.
