This stunning 2018 1 oz Niue Gold $250 Star Wars Stormtrooper Coin is a fantastic issue from the renowned New Zealand Mint carrying the officially licensed image of the legendary Star Wars character - the Stormtrooper!
Stormtroopers were the main ground force of the Galactic Empire and the evolution of the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. They served under the leadership of Emperor Palpatine and his commanders, most notably Darth Vader. As members of the Stormtrooper Corps, an independent branch that operated under the Imperial Army - they served as ever-present reminders of the absolute power of Emperor Palpatine. Dissenting citizens referred to them as bucketheads, a derogatory nickname inspired by the bucket-shaped helmets of stormtroopers. They wore the well-known white armor made from plastoid over the black body glove.
