Each coin from this set was received by PCGS for grading within the first 30 days of issue and authenticated as carrying a mirror-like, sharp finish and an almost flawless appearance. Introduced in 1986, the Proof American Silver Eagles had been produced by the United States Mint at its San Francisco, Philadelphia, and West Point facilities, carrying their mint marks. Starting with 2001, these spectacular coins are produced just at the West Point facility, except for the year 2009, when the mint was obliged to supply all its silver blanks for bullion coins due to the unprecedented silver demand.
