This 2017 S 1 oz American Silver Eagle is originally part of a Limited-Edition Set released by the U.S. Mint and a unique coin. This beautiful coin is the first San Francisco-minted Silver Eagle Proof since 2012, and only the second in 25 years. In addition, it has a limited mintage of 50,000 coins, making this coin even more impressive addition to any collection.
The obverse depicts the iconic Walking Liberty design, which was first introduced on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916 and created by the famous sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. The reverse showcases a heraldic eagle created by 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, John Mercanti in a rendition of the United States Great Seal.
This coin was graded within 30 days of Mint’s release by the PCGS and achieved the highest grade of Proof 70. This grade is used to describe a fully struck coin, free of visual marks under 5x magnification.
