The 2017 1 oz Armenia Silver 500 Drams Noah's Ark Coin is an Armenian silver bullion minted by the “Geiger Edelmetalle” - one of the most modern private mints in Germany. The Geiger Edelmetalle has been striking the Noah´s Ark coins since 2011 after a signed agreement with the Central Bank of Armenia. The Central Bank of Armenia is an independent institution responsible for issuing all banknotes and coins in the country, overseeing and regulating the banking sector and keeping the government's currency reserves.

The obverse design features the coat of arms for Armenia. It includes an eagle and a lion holding a shield, combining the new and the old symbols. The shield design features a biblical tale with a small ark clearly on top of Ararat and flood waters.
