First issued in 1997, the American Platinum Eagle Coin is an iconic bullion coin produced by the US Mint. Beside her is the majestic bald eagle with its widely outstretched wings. There are 13 olives on the branch symbolizing the Thirteen Original Colonies of the US Nation. This outstanding design belongs to the US Mint’s designer Paul C. Balan and sculptor-­engraver Joseph Menna.
