A common adoration of the people of China is the treasured panda. The beloved creature has been featured on Chinese coinage since 1983, with depictions that change annually. The 2016 150 gram Chinese Silver Panda features an all new design, struck for the first time in a brand new weight.

The Chinese Silver Panda Coin was first released in 1983 and has been issued each year since. The coins are struck in both gold and silver, and are available in multiple metals weights.

The latest release in this popular series features an all new reverse side design with each coin bearing the adorable panda bear playfully climbing a fallen tree trunk. The reverse side also features the traditional bamboo stalk background along with the coins metal weight, purity, and face value inscribed beneath the image of the panda bear.

The obverse side of the 2016 150 gram Chinese Silver Panda Coin features the common Temple of Heaven along with the People’s Republic of China and the coins year of production engraved near the rim of the coin.
