Each of these regal coins has been housed in PCGS’s original green holder, which has garnered much interest and procurement since its debut in 1986. Following the popularity of the green holder, PCGS has released these FDOI American Eagles in matching green storage containers. Each storage box arrives from PCGS containing 20 - 2016 1 oz Silver American Eagle $1 Coin PCGS MS 69 OGH FDOI First Day WP Strike 1 of 2016. These coins have been graded by PCGS as MS 69 – having virtually no imperfections. Additionally, they have been labelled as First Day of Issue Coins. This means that the coins were dispatched to PCGS for grading within one day of their first release.
PCGS’s attention to detail in the slab is sure to spark the interest of coin enthusiasts. The clear plastic slab features PCGS’s logo engraved on the lower front side along with a green sticker which certifies the coin was struck by the U.S. Mint at their West Point Facility. Weinman’s iconic Lady Liberty design, which initially graced the obverse side of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The depiction features the beloved Lady Liberty gracefully moving toward the sunlight while grasping a laurel oak in her hand. She is surrounded by stars and stripes. The laurel oak serves as a symbol of our country’s vitality. The obverse side design is completed with the engravings “IN GOD WE TRUST”, and “LIBERTY”.
The reverse side boasts the popular heraldic eagle, designed by US Chief Engraver – John Mercanti. Our countries first colonies are celebrated in the reverse side design with 13 stars above the heraldic eagle. The following inscriptions complete the design: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “1 OZ”, and “FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR”.
