History:

To mark the 100^th anniversary of the silver 1916 Mercury Dime, the United States Mint released the Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coins in 2016. The coin features the original Winged Liberty Design by Adolph A. Weinman. The gold dime coin is also known by another popular name, the Mercury Dime because of the resemblance of Lady Liberty to the Roman God Mercury in the obverse of the coin. Made from 24 Karat gold, the weight one-tenth Troy ounce is symbolic of the coin’s denomination of one dime. A business strike is used to make the coin.
