This 2013 W 1/2 oz $10 First Spouse - Edith Roosevelt Gold Proof Coin is a part of the First Spouse Series, a collection that honors the first ladies of all our historical presidents. This coin shows Edith Roosevelt, wife of President Theodore Roosevelt.
The obverse features a bust of Edith Roosevelt along with the order of the Presidency and the years of her husband's term. In addition, are the inscriptions "EDITH ROOSEVELT," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "LIBERTY," and the year of mintage.
The reverse represents Mrs. Roosevelt’s work in the restoration of the White House in 1902. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," along with the denomination, weight, and purity.
