This stunning 2013 1 oz Gold Lunar Year of The Snake BU Australia Coin is a beautiful piece from the famous Lunar Series based on the ancient 12-year Chinese lunar calendar, which dates back to 2,600 B.C. The Lunar Series is highly praised among both collectors and investors. This stunning coin has a limited mintage of 30,000 pieces only but is no longer made today, making it very rare and a must-have addition for every passionate numismatic.
The obverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, courtesy of the talented Ian Rank-Broadley, completed with the inscriptions “Elizabeth II, “Australia,” along with the year of mintage, denomination, purity, and weight.
The reverse showcases the stunning “Year of the Snake” design - the amazing Snake is seen among grass and bamboo shoots. This beautiful lunar image is surrounded by the “P” mintmark, the words “Year of the Snake,” and the Chinese character for this reptile.
