The obverse of each coin features the iconic Walking Liberty design created by Adolph A. Weinman, with the American flag in the background and the sun rising on the horizon. The reverse of the coin displays the heraldic eagle with a shield, holding an olive branch and arrows, designed by John Mercanti.
