Built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period, Chichén Itzá is a complex of Mayan ruins of a large pre-Columbian city on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The Nunnery in Chichen Itza consists of three buildings: Las Monjas (The Nuns), the East, and Southeast wings, which correspond to several overlapping building periods.
