The Gold Lunar Year of the Ox coin features a beautiful colorized image of an ox laying in some grass under some tree branches on the reverse. The coin is minted from .9999 fine gold and comes in a one-ounce size. Above the ox is the Chinese character for “Ox.” Below the animal is the inscription in English “Year of the Ox.” A “P” mint mark can be seen in the top left corner of the coin.
The obverse features a right side facing profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Markers include “1 OZ 9999 GOLD,” the year of mintage “2009,” and denomination “100 DOLLARS.” Other markers include “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” and the engraver’s mint mark.
