Minted by the Australian Perth Mint, the Gold Lunar Ox is based on the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. Those born in “The Year of the Ox” are said to be steadfast, reliable, goal oriented and a strong companion. This is an exclusive Year of the Ox coin from Perth Mint containing one troy ounce of .9999 pure 24-karat gold. Each coin comes in a plastic protective capsule.
On the reverse of the coin is a picture of an Ox in the grass along with the animal's name written out in Chinese characters. “Year of the Ox” is inscribed under the image in English. Above the ox in the trees is the letter “P” symbolizing the Perth Mint. The obverse of the coin displays the image of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. On the top arc of the coin is inscribed with her name and "Australia." The bottom arc features the coin's weight, year, and denomination.
