Struck by the United States Mint from 1 troy ounce of .9999 fine gold, this coin carries a $50 USD face value and comes housed in its original red U.S. Mint “Celebration Series” presentation box with Certificate of Authenticity.
In 2008, the U.S. Mint set aside a limited number of 1 oz Gold Buffalo bullion coins for inclusion in the Celebration Series, timed to coincide with the Lunar New Year. These coins were marketed especially to buyers who view the number 8 as lucky, and were presented in an elegant red velvet-style gift box, making them ideal as auspicious gifts as well as investment pieces.
