This 2006 S Gold $5 Proof Commemorative San Francisco Old Mint NGC PF 70 UCAM honors this mint after 100 years, for surviving the 1906 earthquake and fire. This allowed the mint to aid the treasury for disaster relief funds.

The obverse features the San Francisco Mint with the design based on an 1869 construction drawing by Supervising Architect A.B. Mullet. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “1906,” “2006,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “SAN FRANCISCO EARTHQUAKE AND FIRE CENTENNIAL.”

The reverse displays an eagle with its wings outstretched, arrows in its talons, and baring a patriotic shield. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the denomination.
