The American Eagle Coin is one of the most world’s favorite Gold bullion products. Proof Gold Eagle coins are collector versions of the U.S. Mint's beloved Gold Eagle bullion coins and have limited mintages, adding even more value to their collectibility. Proof Gold Eagle coins are struck having the same design of the Gold Double Eagle coin first minted in 1907.

First produced in 1986 Gold American Eagle coins are minted according to the durable, 22- karat standard established for circulating gold coinage 350 years ago. This Gold American Eagle is dated with Roman numerals, which was the standard practice on mintages until 1992 when they started to carry Arabic numbers. Each coin contains its full 1 oz weight of pure gold, and also consists of silver and copper, added to increase the coin’s durability to help resist scratching.

The obverse features Lady Liberty walking with confidence with her hair flowing against the rays of the sun. She is holding an olive branch and a torch in her hands. Her image is encircled by the state stars and the word ‘Liberty’, and in the US Capitol building on the down-left. This impressive design was created by the famous American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

The reverse depicts a male eagle flying over its nest and carrying an olive branch in its talons. The female eagle is protecting its hatchlings in the nest. This representation of the bald eagle, the American symbol of patriotism and strength, showcases the importance of family values. The reverse design belongs to the contemporary sculptor Miley Busiek. The image of the eagles is surrounded by the face value of the coin and weight marks, along with the ‘United States of America’, “E Pluribus Unum’, and ‘In God We Trust’ inscriptions.
