1965 - 1967 Peru 2.784 oz .900 Fine Gold 5-coin Soles Set W/Box

 

This set includes five 1965 -1967 Peruvian Lima Gold in the denominations of 100 soles, 50 soles, 20 soles, 10 soles, and 5 soles.

This coin set shows Peruvian culture and has a great uniqueness since Peru made gold coins in many years when they were not issued by other countries, which makes it to a good source for impossible dates in other series.

On the reverse of the:

Gold One Hundred Soles, is the seated Libertad, inserted with the shield and the column. On the lower part of the coin, just below the feet of Libertad, is the year whereas on the edge of the coin, on the far-right of the character, one reads CIEN SOLES ORO (ONE HUNDRED GOLD SOLES), and on the far-left: GRS.42.1264 OF FINE GOLD.

Gold Fifty Soles, is the seated Libertad, inserted with the shield and the column. On the lower part of the coin, just below the feet of Libertad, is the year whereas on the edge of the coin, on the far-right of the character, is the inscription "CINCUENTA SOLES ORO" (FIFTY GOLD SOLES), and on the far-left: GRS.21.0632 OF FINE GOLD.

Gold Twenty Soles, is the seated Libertad, inserted with the shield and the column. On the lower part of the coin, just below the feet of Libertad, is the year whereas on the edge of the coin, on the far-right of the character, is the inscription "VEINTE SOLES ORO" (TWENTY GOLD SOLES), and on the far-left: GRS.8.42528 OF FINE GOLD.

Gold Ten Soles, is the seated Libertad, inserted with the shield and the column. On the lower part of the coin, just below the feet of Libertad, is the year whereas on the edge of the coin, on the far-right of the character, is the inscription "DIEZ SOLES ORO" (TEN GOLD SOLES), and on the far-left: GRS.4.21264 OF FINE GOLD.

Gold Five Soles, is the seated Libertad, inserted with the shield and the column. On the lower part of the coin, just below the feet of Libertad, is the year whereas on the edge of the coin, on the far-right of the character, is the inscription "CINCO SOLES ORO" (FIVE GOLD SOLES), and on the far-left: GRS.2.1062 OF FINE GOLD.

On the obverse is Peru's Coat of Arms which consists of three portions: the top left section shows the vicuña, their national animal, which represents the fauna of Peru; the tree in the top right section is the cinchonatree representing the national flora; and the bottom cornucopia with coins spilling from it represents the mineral resources of the country.
