This amazing set of 9 Vatican City coins is all graded by NGC and dated 1929. The Lateran Treaty established the State of the Vatican City in 1929. In accordance with the terms of the treaty, Centesimi and Lire were introduced as currency. These coins are from the 1929-1939 Pope Pius XI series and were minted by Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato. The year of the production of these coins in the first year if the existence of Vatican City and the eighth (VIII) year of the papacy of Pope Pius XI.
5 Centesimi: This Copper coin weighs 3.25 g and has a diameter of 19.5 mm. The theme for this Copper coin was the “Coats of Arms/Plants” which was last issued in 1937.
