1921 Morgan Silver Dollar $1 NGC/PCGS MS 62

Please note, these coins may exhibit any degree of toning.

The 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar $1 NGC/PCGS MS 62 combines classic American silver coinage with professional certification from one of the industry's leading grading services. Composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, each Morgan Dollar weighs 26.73 grams and contains approximately 0.7734 troy oz of silver. Certified MS 62 by either NGC or PCGS, this historic coin remains in Mint State condition more than a century after it was struck.

Designed by George T. Morgan, the Morgan Silver Dollar was introduced in 1878 following passage of the Bland-Allison Act. Its production initially continued through 1904 before being suspended.

The series unexpectedly returned in 1921 as a result of the Pittman Act of 1918. More than 270 million previously struck silver dollars had been melted under the legislation, which also required replacement silver to be purchased and coined. To resume production, new Morgan Dollar hubs had to be prepared because the original hubs had been destroyed years earlier.

The resulting 1921 Morgan Dollar became the final issue of the original Morgan Dollar series before the Peace Dollar debuted later that year. Morgan Dollars were struck at Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco in 1921, with the Denver issue representing the only Morgan Dollar ever produced at that mint.
