This 1915 S $20 Gold St. Gaudens Double Eagle Coin is graded by NGC as Uncirculated Details. The coin weighs .9675 troy ounce and is struck in 90% fine gold.
The coin is named after its designer, the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, many collectors consider this coin to be the most beautiful in US history.
The obverse features Lady Liberty with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand along with the rising sun and Capital building in the background. The inscriptions include “Liberty” and the year of mintage. On the reverse is an American Eagle in flight with the rising sun in the background along with the inscriptions “United States of America,” “Twenty Dollars,” and “In God We Trust.”
