This amazing 1913 $20 Gold St. Gaudens Double Eagle Coin NGC AU Details is a great purchase to make. The Saint-Gaudens double eagle is named after its designer, the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful of U.S. coins.
The obverse features Lady Liberty marching forward with a torch and olive branch in her hands and the rising sun with the Capital building in the background. The inscriptions include “Liberty” and the year of mintage. On the reverse is an eagle in flight, representing freedom and again we see the rising sun as the background. The inscriptions include “United States of America,” “Twenty Dollars,” and “In God We Trust.”
