The obverse features a left sided portrait of Lady Liberty, her hair loose and wearing a diadem. Encircling this beautiful design is 13 stars which represent  the original colonies, the year of mintage is inscribed below.

The reverse side shows the US Seal, which consists of the American Eagle baring a patriotic shield. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the denomination.
