The obverse features a left sided bust of Lady Liberty, her hair loose and wearing a diadem. Encircling this beautiful design is 13 stars representing the original colonies from the New World and the year of mintage below.
The reverse side shows the American bald eagle with a flag-based shield on its chest, wings spread open for flight. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the denomination.
