These $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagles were minted between 1849-1907 and designed by Chief Engraver James Longacre. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill and the ensuing California gold rush led Congress to authorize the mintage of this legendary $20 Double Eagle Liberty gold coin. 

This incredible Double Liberty Head Eagle gold coin had the highest gold content of any regular issue U.S. gold coin of its era, making it a great way to invest in gold.

The obverse side depicts Lady Liberty facing left, while the reverse features a majestic bald eagle.
